The National Institutes of Health (NIH) will host a virtual panel discussion on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. EST.
The latest installment of the Understudied, Underrepresented, Underreported (U3) Women’s Health Lecture Series of the NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health (ORWH) will feature presentations from Dr. Marie Lynn Miranda, of the University of Notre Dame, and Dr. Leah H. Rubin, of John Hopkins University.
The webinar, titled “Improving Chronic Disease Outcomes Through Approaches that Address Social Determinants of Health,” will take place on Zoom. The presenters will discuss a range of important topics, including racial disparities in relation to health and education, patterns of racial segregation throughout the United States, and how using new technology in routine HIV clinical care could improve patient outcomes.
The purpose of the U3 Women’s Health Lecture Series is to drive interest toward the complex issues affecting women’s health.
In this episode of Pap Talk, Gloria Bachmann, MD, MSc, breaks down what it means to be a health care provider for incarcerated individuals, and explores the specific challenges women and their providers face during and after incarceration.
