CDC to Release New Data on Sexually Transmitted Diseases Diagnoses
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) releases it's
2006 Sexually Transmitted Disease Surveillance report, which includes the
latest national trends in reporting of three nationally-notifiable STDs
chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. The report shows increases in reported cases
of all three of these STDs from 2005 to 2006, underscoring the need for
continued vigilance in prevention, screening, and treatment efforts.
